Central St. Croix Chamber member Minuteman Press in Hudson is named the Chamber’s ‘Business of the Month’ for September 2017
They have been an active member since the beginning, joining in 2009. The company was awarded the Central St. Croix Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year for 2013. They have been very involved by sponsoring our events, providing printing, hosting Java Jumpstarts and attending events. Pete Keskey served on the Chamber Board and Cindy Brown Bauer also has served on the Chamber Board from 2014 thru 2016.
Minuteman Press is an international franchise, with stores all over the world. Locally owned and operated, Pete Keskey opened the Hudson store in November of 2006 with two employees. At Minuteman, there are endless possibilities of things they can do to promote and grow your business. Besides the standard business cards, forms, letterhead and envelopes, they produce banners, signs, promotional products, rubber stamps, name tags, tablecloths and retractable banners, labels, invitations and so much more.
Everything starts with a top notch art department. They boast four full-time graphic designers who create award winning work. Serena Wildt (MMP Manager) started in 2007, Charlie Eichman, Jenna Wojan and Lauren Leitgeb are there to design everything from a logo to full color brochures and multi-page programs. They can take your ideas and turn them into reality on paper.
Getting you the right product for your business and budget is the main concern of the customer service department. Cindy Brown Bauer, Linda LaKosky-Eng and Kari Nustvold take care of the orders from the first phone call to the invoicing. Kari and Cindy bring many years of experience in promotional products and can hook you up with just the right item for your companies’ giveaways and customer appreciation: from pens to garments to tradeshow displays.
Offset Printing and Bindery lead Ralph Severson along with John Jenkinson produce and complete your items with folding, laminating, trimming, gluing, stapling and more. Finishing the project to meet the deadlines is their top priority.
Pete Keskey keeps the smiles and laughs plentiful as he makes sure everything runs smoothly. He has done so well with Hudson that he also has opened stores in Oakdale Minnesota (2011) and St. Paul (2015). He has won many awards from corporate headquarters and is extremely involved in many local chambers, being named Hudson’s Chamber Member of the year and Ambassador of the year for Hudson. They are very active in not only the Central St. Croix and Hudson Chambers, but he and Linda also are involved with the Baldwin, New Richmond, Stillwater and Somerset Chambers as well.

Focus Digital Marketing Opens Office Space & Music Recording Studio on Main Street in Baldwin
On Friday, June 16th, the Central St. Croix Chamber celebrated the new studio/office of Focus Digital Marketing and Bailey Park Studio with a ribbon cutting. The new studio/office is located at 710 Main Street, Baldwin, WI.
After 10 years of running Focus Digital Marketing from their hobby farm in Woodville, Angie & Nate Wycoff recently opened up a meeting space at 710 Main Street in Baldwin. Their specialty has always been partnering with small businesses to improve online presence by creating search-optimized responsive websites or online marketing campaigns that drive qualified traffic – and now they’re in a great position to do just that with local businesses.
Angie also has her Bachelor’s in Internet Marketing and has a life-long passion for learning as much as she can in the digital marketing space. “My main goal is to help local small businesses get online and in front of their ideal customers,” said Angie “whether that’s through full-service marketing services or by leading Workshops to teach local business owners how to get started or further or get better results from their digital marketing efforts.” Angie has earned her AdWords Certification and is also a Certified Solution Provider for Constant Contact Email Marketing. In addition to the beautiful space upstairs, they also have Bailey Park Studio, a full service music and audio production studio, in the lower level! Bailey Park Studio is a place for artists & bands to record their music affordably while still retaining a professional sound. They also provide audio & video production for commercial uses (like promotional videos, training videos, commercials, etc) and mobile audio/video recording for events.

Business of the Month – February 2017 – St. Croix Central School District
The Central St. Croix Area Chamber’s Business of the Month for February is the St. Croix Central School District. Superintendent Tim Widiker shared with us how the district improvements are progressing including the progress of the new district office.
The School District purchased the former Associated Bank located at 915 Davis Street in Hammond a couple years ago. The location is great complete with vaults to secure confidential records and plenty of space for storage.
After the referendum passed in November 2014, the remodeling began. The remodel turned the bank into 9 offices, a large conference room and a permanent boardroom. There is also ample storage space in the vaults, two work stations and a kitchenette. There is a large basement, not yet remodeled, but is currently being used for storage.
The project was divided into two phases. Phase I included construction and remodeling of the 9 offices, kitchenette and work spaces. Phase II included construction of the conference room, boardroom, vault remodels, parking lot repaving, removal of the drive through canopy, replacement of windows and siding repair. The staff recently moved into the offices on September 2nd.
Phase I is complete, Phase II is almost complete with the exception of the audio/visual equipment in the board and conference rooms which will be complete within the next 4 weeks.
All other project throughout the district are nearly complete besides the remodeling/reconfiguration of the High School office including the front entrance and insulation of some duct work at the Middle School.
Another exciting improvement to the school district is the video scoreboard at the high school competition gymnasium. Another part of this project is a video scoreboard at the track/football stadium on the high school grounds. The outdoor work will be compete this spring. This impressive project is due to energy reinvestment dollars as well as the support of many local businesses through an advertising program. This scoreboard advertising partnership has raised and will continue to raise $24,000 annually for the school district.
Overall, Mr. Widiker is pleased and proud of the outstanding improvements at all the facilities including the new district office. He says the community is incredibly supportive and the school district has outstanding staff, students and families.

Our January Business of the Month is Restore – St. Croix Valley Habitat For Humanity
ReStore -St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity is located at 801 Wagner Drive in Roberts across from Dollar General. The St. Croix Valley store opened their New Richmond location in April, 2010 and moved to Roberts in May, 2016. They serve the St. Croix Valley area including Roberts, Hudson, and New Richmond. There is another ReStore location in River Falls. ReStore Roberts became a chamber member last summer.
ReStore is a lot like the “Goodwill” of home goods. The money they raise from their sales goes into the Habitat for Humanity organization. Community members, contractors, remodelers and suppliers can donate everything from furniture, light fixtures, doors, hardware, patio furniture and so many other things. It’s a perfect place to shop, saving you money on your home projects.
