On Saturday September 30th, members from the Central St. Croix Chamber Board of Directors participated in the 12th Annual Chili Fest in Baldwin. This event is sponsored by the Baldwin-Woodville Chamber of Commerce to help pay for scholarships as well as other donations throughout the year.
Chili Fest is a free, family friendly event that takes place on Main Street and involves all things chili. Samples are $0.50 and people can vote on their favorite chili. The participants included many local businesses showcasing their best chili making efforts.
There was a lot of strong competition, but only 2 would win.
Winners were: People’s Choice; Houston’s Salon with a tasty white chicken chili and Judge’s Choice; Culver’s of Baldwin. The Best Booth award went to the Baldwin American Legion.
Even though our chamber did not win “best chili”, we had a lot of compliments and repeat business. One business even offered to buy our recipe! We had a great time representing our Chamber and you might just see us there again next year, maybe with the winning recipe!
A special thank you to Candi Phernetton (our chili maker), Nic Haug, Pam Deutsch and Lisa Lyon for helping with the Chamber Chili Booth.
